20th June,  2017

Due to popular demand during my Open Studio event earlier this month, I have started to produce cards depicting some of my paintings. Details will appear on a dedicated webpage when I am able to get around to constructing it..

As posted on 10th March below, two artists from Burton Joyce joined me on 20th/21st May to form an art trail under the auspices of Open Studios Notts., a well-established annual event that gives artists and makers throughout the county the opportunity to bring their work to the attention of the general public. An additional aim of the scheme is, where possible, to offer a glimpse into the often private world of the artist and to give an insight into the creative process.

Burton Joyce had not been represented in the scheme until this year, so the three of us were breaking new ground, despite the proven wealth of artistic talent that we know resides within our village. This last point was reflected in the support received over the weekend in question and the level of interest shown by some to join next year’s event. It was difficult to estimate the number of visitors who came to the three venues but the footfall was probably between 60 and 70 over the two days. The venues included a private home space (with a beautiful garden), a cafe in the centre of the village and my own garden studio. Between us we were able to display line drawings, paintings in watercolour, oil and pastel, plus prints and cards covering many subjects.

My studio (at 58 Chesterfield Drive, Burton Joyce) will be open to the public this year on Saturday 20th May and Sunday 21st May between 10am and 5pm. The event is part of the annual Nottinghamshire  Open Studios programme and it is the first time I have subscribed to it.
